baba news EN

baba news is an independent award-winning online magazine reporting from the inside of a multi-ethnic community in Switzerland.

Our goal is to shift the narrative and make unheard voices heard. We are addressing inequalities, showing new perspectives and are contributing to a more just and democratic society.

In addition to our work in journalism, we also run the baba academy and the baba bistro, with the aim to make an impact both online and in person, promoting diversity and cultural understanding within society.

Our vision is a media landscape that gives space to the stories of diverse individuals — not told from an outsider’s perspective, but from within. We do our part by creating content that addresses social and political issues from the viewpoint of a multi-ethnic community. Take a look.

Additionally, we engage in media criticism as part of our educational mission. We believe that pressure is needed to drive lasting change in long-established structures.

We are seeking strong partners who value our work and are excited to support it through their knowhow, their network or financially.

«Foreigners, migration, second-generation immigrants, refugee flows, Muslims…»

These topics and communities are widely discussed in Switzerland. Yet, amid the many (often loud) voices, those directly affected are often missing from the conversation. baba news aims to fill this gap.

Help us do the work by becoming a member, backing our campaigns, becoming a baba donor, or volunteering at our events. We look forward to hearing from you!
